Job summary

Hyatt Hotel Canberra is seeking friendly Guest Service Officers to join our Front Office team. You will create a welcoming experience for guests, handling calls, greeting arrivals, and assisting with check-in/check-out while resolving service issues with grace.

The role offers both full-time and part-time hours. A Diploma in Hospitality or Tourism is desirable, with Opera knowledge a plus; training and development opportunities are provided within a diverse, inclusive workplace.

Qualifications

• Ability to work under pressure.
• Diploma/Certificate in Hospitality or Tourism Management is desirable.
• Knowledge of Opera is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Ensure smooth and efficient operation of the Front Office on a day to day basis.
• Handle internal and external phone calls, relaying messages with proficiency.
• Operate and control the telephone switchboard.
• Handle guest enquiries and requests and to have a thorough knowledge of Canberra and its surrounding areas.
• Receive Room Service orders and promptly relay with the Room Service Kitchen and team.
• Process guest arrival and departures with smooth check-in/check-out experiences.

About the Role

We are looking for both full time and part time passionate and customer focused Guest Service Officers to join our amazing front office department, where you will be creating a welcoming experience for all our guests through helpful and exceptional service. This role will be a mixed role of handling and responding to guest calls and enquires in addition to greeting and assisting in their check in and check out. In this position you will be proactively resolving service-related concerns and providing appropriate follow up. This highly visible role gives opportunity for creating signature experiences.

Some of the responsibilities include:

Qualifications

A Successful Candidate will have:

• Ability to work under pressure


• Diploma/certificate in Hospitality or Tourism Management is desirable


• Knowledge of Opera is desirable


• Preferable prerequisite knowledge of the Travel/Hotel industry highly regarded
