Job summary

Pier One Sydney Harbour is seeking a warm, proactive Porter to assist guests with luggage, valet parking, and navigate our facilities. You will play a key role in smooth arrivals and departures while maintaining the lobby’s presentation and supporting the Front Office team.

Ideal candidates have hospitality experience, excellent communication, and a positive, team-oriented mindset. This role requires a valid driver’s license and full working rights in Australia.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Experience as porter or in guest services preferred.
• Physically capable of manual handling and mobility duties.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly and assist with luggage.
• Deliver and retrieve luggage to/from guest rooms.
• Safely store guest belongings and assist with group arrivals.
• Assist with valet parking and adhere to local road regulations.
• Maintain a clean, welcoming lobby and support Front Office.
• Explain room features and hotel services during luggage delivery.
• Respond to guest queries about facilities and local attractions.
• Support front office operations and accurate handovers.
• Assist guests with disabilities per accessibility guidelines.
• Monitor safety hazards and report issues.
• Maintain grooming and safety standards; participate in trainings.
• Handle guest mail, messages, and parcels; process payments and cash handling.
• Maintain confidentiality of guest and staff information.
• Promote hotel offerings and upsell where appropriate.
