Job summary

Archer Daniels Midland Company seeks a Superintendent to manage daily grain elevator operations, including loading/unloading, sampling, grading, blending and storage. You will train hourly staff in safety, food safety and operations, while driving improvements, preventive maintenance and cost efficiency.

The role emphasizes compliance with OSHA/EPA/DOT, GMP/HACCP/FSMA and strong leadership to maintain safe, productive facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; OJT acceptable
• Lead hourly workforce in safety, food safety and operations
• Experience with GMP, HACCP and FSMA compliance
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to train others and develop employees
• Computer proficiency with standard office tools

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety of all personnel and demonstrate safety leadership
• Oversee daily plant operations including safety, quality control, production and cost optimization
• Identify and mitigate hazards to protect employees and product quality
• Address employee concerns and maintain morale and communications
• Develop workforce capabilities and training of hourly labor
• Lead preventive maintenance and schedule inspections and repairs
• Maintain documentation and cost-saving ideas
