Job summary

Benchmark Resourcing is seeking an Export Documentation Officer for an Australian owned international trading and supply business. You will join a 12-person logistics and documentation team, handling perishable commodities across international markets from a Parramatta-based office.

You will prepare and check export documents, including invoices, packing lists and bills of lading, while ensuring compliance with country requirements and customer needs.

Qualifications

• Must have practical experience preparing export documentation.
• Experience with commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, health certificates and certificates of origin.
• Knowledge of EDNs, RFPs and export permit requirements.
• Experience exporting food, agricultural products or other perishable commodities.
• Strong understanding of documentation deadlines and international customer requirements.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to manage several shipments and competing priorities.

The Opportunity:

An established Australian owned international trading and supply business is looking for an experienced Export Documentation Officer to join their team. The company supplies food, grocery and agricultural commodities across international markets, supported by strong supplier relationships and extensive experience managing complex global trade requirements. You'll become part of an established 12 person logistics and documentation team working across a diverse range of perishable products and international destinations. This is a full time office based position located within a five minute’ walk from Parramatta train station. Interviews are commencing immediately, with the successful person able to start as soon as possible.

The Role:

This position is focused specifically on preparing, checking and finalising export documentation for perishable food and agricultural shipments. Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing and processing export documentation accurately and within required timeframes.

• Preparing commercial invoices and packing lists.

• Preparing and checking bills of lading.

• Organising health certificates and certificates of origin.

• Processing EDNs, RFPs and relevant export permits.

• Preparing forwarding instructions for shipping lines and service providers.

• Checking shipment details, product information, quantities and customer requirements.

• Ensuring documentation meets the requirements of different countries and customers.

• Liaising with traders, suppliers, customers, government departments and internal logistics employees.

• Following up outstanding information and documentation.

• Identifying and resolving documentation discrepancies before cargo is dispatched.

• Supporting the documentation team during busy periods.

The Candidate:

You must have previous export documentation experience gained directly within a food or agricultural manufacturer, supplier, producer or trading business. To be considered, you will need:

• Practical experience preparing export documentation.

• Experience with commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, health certificates and certificates of origin.

• Knowledge of EDNs, RFPs and export permit requirements.

• Experience exporting food, agricultural products or other perishable commodities.

• A strong understanding of documentation deadlines and international customer requirements.

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

• The ability to manage several shipments and competing priorities at once.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Confidence following up suppliers, customers and internal stakeholders.

• The ability to work effectively within a busy team environment.

Experience using BSM would be advantageous but is not essential.
