Job summary

Cafe63 Raintrees in Manunda, Cairns QLD, is hiring a full-time Waiter (Supervisor) with a salary of $73,000 per year plus super. You will supervise front-of-house operations, coordinate service, manage reservations and train junior staff in high-volume dining environments.

The role requires a Certificate III in Hospitality or equivalent and at least 12 months supervising waitstaff, with strong POS and food safety knowledge. Evening/weekend work is required; 12-month commitment expected.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Hospitality or equivalent qualification.
• 12 months’ experience supervising restaurant waitstaff, coordinating service.
• 12 months’ experience with POS operations, including table mapping, cash handling and till reconciliation.
• 12 months’ experience coordinating reservations, seating, turnover and kitchen communication in high-volume dining.
• 12 months’ experience delivering professional food and beverage service, including menu presentation and service recovery.
• 12 months’ experience conducting front-of-house stocktakes, beverage inventory control and equipment management.
• 12 months’ experience training junior waitstaff, monitoring service accuracy and resolving complaints.
• Experience applying food safety procedures, allergen communication, hygiene standards and WHS requirements.
• Strong knowledge of restaurant service protocols and customer service standards.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends and public holidays.
• Willingness to commit to full-time for at least 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Supervise front-of-house operations including table service and guest seating.
• Coordinate waiter duties, station allocations, breaks and peak-period workflows.
• Monitor service standards, order accuracy and customer satisfaction.
• Oversee reservations, seating, turnover and service capacity.
• Operate POS systems: orders, payments, refunds and cash reconciliation.
• Liaise with kitchen on meal prep, dietary needs and timely delivery.
• Train junior waitstaff in procedures, product knowledge and engagement.
• Resolve complaints and service delays with professional recovery.
• Maintain dining area presentation, cleanliness and equipment readiness.
• Assist with beverage stock, supplies and inventory checks.
• Implement improvements to enhance experience and productivity.
• Ensure food safety, allergens, hygiene and WHS compliance.
