Job summary

Newmason Eat Drink and Relax in Warragul, VIC, invites an experienced Chef to join the kitchen on a full-time basis. You will maintain high standards of food quality, oversee kitchen operations and work closely with management to ensure smooth service.

The role requires preparation of diverse dishes, staff supervision, menu development input, and adherence to food safety guidelines in a lively hospitality setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum Cert IV in Commercial Cookery or Hospitality.
• At least 1 year experience as a Chef in a commercial kitchen.
• Sound knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques.
• Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation.
• Ability to work under pressure in busy service.

Responsibilities

• Planning and preparing menus in consultation with management.
• Preparing, cooking and presenting dishes to a high standard.
• Supervising kitchen staff during preparation and service.
• Assisting with menu planning and development.
• Estimating food requirements and assisting with purchasing.
• Monitoring stock levels and rotating supplies.
• Ensuring food safety and hygiene standards.
• Coordinating with front-of-house for efficient service.
• Training and guiding kitchen staff.
