Job summary

QBE Insurance Group in Melbourne is seeking a Motor Vehicle Assessor for a field-based role. You will autonomously assess damage across light, heavy and prestige vehicles, determine repair and settlement outcomes, and work with repairers, suppliers and customers to deliver fair, timely resolutions.

This position emphasizes technical expertise, cost-aware decision-making and a customer-focused claims journey, with hybrid working possibilities and a strong team culture.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in Panel Beating, Spray Painting or Motor Mechanics.
• Experience assessing and quoting accident-damaged vehicles across light, heavy and/or prestige vehicles.
• Excellent negotiation, conflict resolution and stakeholder management.
• Customer-first mindset with a proven track record of delivering quality outcomes.
• A current driver's licence.

Responsibilities

• Assess vehicle damage and determine best-practice repair and settlement outcomes.
• Manage claims costs through sound technical decision-making and negotiation.
• Build strong relationships with repairers, suppliers and customers through face-to-face, phone and digital interactions.
• Source and negotiate suitable replacement parts when required.
• Deliver exceptional customer experiences throughout the claims journey.
• Contribute to QBE's Claims strategy and broader business objectives.
