Job summary

QBE Insurance Group in Brisbane is seeking a Motor Vehicle Assessor to join the Assessing team. The role is autonomous, field-based and involves assessing damage on light to heavy vehicles, determining repair and settlement outcomes, and collaborating with repairers, suppliers and customers to deliver fair, timely resolutions.

This position blends technical expertise with customer-focused decision-making and offers flexible, field-based work in a hybrid framework with supportive benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience assessing accident-damaged vehicles across light, heavy and/or prestige vehicles.
• Excellent negotiation, conflict resolution and stakeholder management skills.
• Customer-first mindset with a proven track record of delivering quality outcomes.
• Current driver’s licence.

Responsibilities

• Assess vehicle damage and determine best-practice repair and settlement outcomes in line with industry standards and MVIRI requirements.
• Manage claims costs through sound technical decision-making and negotiation.
• Build strong relationships with repairers, suppliers and customers via face-to-face, phone and digital interactions.
• Source and negotiate suitable replacement parts when required.
• Deliver exceptional customer experiences throughout the claims journey.
• Contribute to QBE's Claims strategy and broader business objectives.

The Opportunity

We have the opportunity for a Motor Vehicle Assessor to join our Assessing team. In this autonomous role, you'll assess damage across a range of light and heavy vehicles, determine repair and settlement outcomes, and work closely with repairers, suppliers and customers to deliver fair, timely and cost-effective claims resolutions.

Your new role

As a Motor Vehicle Assessor, you will:

• Assess vehicle damage and determine best-practice repair and settlement outcomes in line with industry standards, legislation, MVIRI requirements and manufacturer repair methods.
• Manage claims costs through sound technical decision-making and negotiation.
• Build strong relationships with repairers, suppliers and customers through face‑to‑face, phone and digital interactions.
• Source and negotiate suitable replacement parts when required.
• Deliver exceptional customer experiences throughout the claims journey.
• Contribute to QBE's Claims strategy and broader business objectives.

About you

To succeed in this role, you'll bring:

• Experience assessing and quoting accident-damaged vehicles across light, heavy and/or prestige vehicles.
