Job summary

WorkPac Group is seeking an experienced Plant Operator in Mackay to support a local earthworks expansion project. You will operate excavators, backhoes and front end loaders while coordinating with the project team to complete works safely and efficiently.

The role emphasizes operating a range of mobile plant, performing pre-start checks and adhering to site safety protocols, with a Monday–Friday roster and a competitive hourly rate.

Qualifications

• RII competencies for machinery operated.
• Experience operating excavators, backhoes and front end loaders.
• Ability to pass site-specific pre-employment requirements.

Responsibilities

• Operate Excavators, Backhoes and Front End Loaders.
• Perform excavation and site preparation tasks.
• Carry out trenching, backfilling and material movement.
• Load and stockpile materials as required.
• Complete pre-start checks on equipment.
• Assist with general site duties as required.
• Adhere to site safety procedures at all times.

About Our Client

Our client is seeking an experienced Plant Operator to join their team and support upcoming earthworks. This role will involve operating a range of mobile plant while working closely with the wider project team to complete works safely and efficiently.

What You Will Be Doing

• Operating Excavators, Backhoes and Front End Loaders
• Excavation and site preparation works
• Trenching, backfilling and material movement
• Loading and stockpiling materials
• Completing pre-start checks on equipment
• Assisting with general site duties as required
• Following site safety procedures at all times

What You Will Need

• Relevant RII competencies for machinery operated
• Previous Excavator, Backhoe and Front End Loader operation's experience
• Current Drivers Licence
• Current White Card
• Previous earthworks experience
• Strong commitment to workplace safety
• Ability to pass site-specific pre-employment requirements
