Job summary

Wearn is seeking multiple Plant Operators with proven experience across quarry and civil machinery to safely and efficiently operate plant and equipment on our sites in Greater Sydney. This casual role may progress to permanent employment as skills are demonstrated.

Successful candidates will perform pre-starts, meet production targets with supervision, and maintain a strong safety focus in line with WHS policies. White Card is required and weekend work may be involved.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' experience operating heavy machinery in quarry/civil environments.
• Relevant VOCs and SOAs (e.g., excavator, loader, dozer, dump truck, grader).
• White Card (Construction Induction) is required.
• Strong commitment to safety and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Operate plant and equipment such as excavators, loaders, dump trucks, dozers, graders and other machinery as required.
• Conduct daily pre-starts and maintain equipment in accordance with company standards.
• Work closely with supervisors to meet production targets.
• Maintain a safety focus and comply with WHS policies and procedures.
• Assist with general labouring or site tasks when required.

The Opportunity

Wearn is looking for multiple motivated and reliable Plant Operators with proven experience across a variety of quarry and civil machinery. The successful candidates will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of plant and equipment on our sites to support production, loading, and material handling activities.

This is a casual opportunity with the potential to progress to permanent employment once skills to perform the role are demonstrated.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate plant and equipment such as excavators, loaders, dump trucks, dozers, graders and other machinery as required
• Conduct daily pre-starts and maintain equipment in accordance with company standards
• Work closely with supervisors to meet production targets
• Maintain a strong safety focus and comply with WHS policies and procedures
• Assist with general labouring or site tasks when required

What We’re Looking For

• Demonstrated experience operating heavy machinery in a quarry or civil environment for a minimum of three (3) years
• Relevant VOC’s and SOA’s (e.g., excavator, loader, dozer, dump truck, grader)
• White Card (Construction Induction)
• A strong commitment to safety and teamwork
• Reliability, punctuality, and a positive attitude
• Ability to work six (6) days per week - ongoing Saturday overtime as required
• Pass a pre-employment medical
