Job summary

Bare Demolition is seeking an experienced Demolition & Excavation Operator to join our team in New South Wales. You will operate excavators on a range of demolition projects, performing structural demolition, material handling and site clean-up.

This hands-on role requires precise operation, safety around structures and teamwork with site crews. The successful candidate will have at least 5 years' excavator experience, GPS knowledge, and the appropriate licences including a Construction White

• Extensive excavator operating experience in demolition/excavation (min 5 years).
• Experience with structural demolition and use of attachments such as grabs and breakers.
• Current Australian driver’s licence and Construction White Card.
• Ability to work safely around structures, workers and services.
• Willingness to assist with general site duties as required.

About the Role

You will be responsible for operating excavators across a variety of demolition and excavation projects, undertaking structural demolition, material handling, sorting and site clean-up.

This is a hands-on demolition position, and when you are not operating the excavator, you will be expected to work alongside the demolition crew and assist with site activities where required.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate excavators safely and efficiently
• Undertake structural and general demolition works
• Use a variety of demolition and excavation attachments, including grabs, buckets, cutter crusher, rock saws and hammers
• Carefully dismantle structures in accordance with demolition methodology
• Both bulk and details excavation for site preparation
• Sort and separate demolition materials for recycling and disposal
• Load trucks and move materials around site
• Work safely around existing structures, services, workers and other plant
• Complete daily plant pre-starts and identify maintenance or mechanical issues
• Maintain and care for allocated plant and attachments
• Follow SWMS, site procedures and instructions from Site Supervisors
• Maintain a clean and safe work area
• Assist with hands-on demolition and general site duties when not operating plant
• Work cooperatively with labourers, supervisors and other operators to keep projects moving efficiently

About You

To be successful, you will have:

• Extensive excavator operating experience within the demolition and excavation industry (minimum 5 years' experience)
• Proven experience undertaking structural demolition
• Proven experience undertaking detailed excavation; use of GPS is an advantage
• Confidence operating excavators in tight and challenging environments
• Experience with attachments including grabs, cutter crushers, augers, rock saws and hammers
• Strong understanding of safe demolition/excavation techniques and machine capabilities
• Ability to work accurately and carefully around people, structures and services
• Good mechanical awareness and respect for plant and equipment
• Willingness to get out of the machine and assist the team when required
• Strong safety awareness and a reliable work ethic
• Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team
• Construction White Card
• Relevant excavator/plant competency and licences where required
• Current Australian driver’s licence
