Job summary

The Star Brisbane is seeking an organised, proactive Events Services Assistant to join our Food & Beverage and Events team. You’ll provide administrative and coordination support behind our conventions, banquets, corporate meetings and incentive groups.

You’ll be the direct point of contact for guests arriving at the property for events. You’ll work closely with the Events team, chefs, suppliers and clients to make sure every event runs seamlessly and is remembered for the right reasons.

Qualifications

• Experience in administrative support and office practices.
• Ability to handle calls, emails, reporting.
• Hospitality experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative support to the Events Services team, including calls, emails, and reporting.
• Act as the direct point of contact for guests and clients attending events.
• Distribute event orders daily with updated Planning information.
• Process purchase requisitions, orders and invoices in Oracle.
• Coordinate bookings, floor plans, guest liaison and special requirements.
• Prepare event collateral and load signage to digital screens.
• Manage courier pickups and office needs.
• Prepare confidential documents and monthly reports.
• Track Events department budgets and end-of-month reporting.
• Support floor operations and rostering.
• Maintain SOPs and training manuals.
