Job summary

Sunshine Coast Council in Queensland seeks an experienced Event Officer to lead civic and community events. You will plan, coordinate and deliver a diverse program, liaising with dignitaries, sponsors and internal teams to ensure high-quality outcomes aligned with our regional vision.

You will manage budgets, run sheets, registrations and post-event reporting, employing strong stakeholder engagement, organisational and communication skills in a fast-paced environment with a hybrid work model.

Qualifications

• Qualifications in Event Management, Tourism, Business, Marketing or related discipline, or equivalent relevant industry experience.
• Advanced event administration, financial management, records management and reporting skills.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data management.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the planning and delivery of civic and community events, ensuring outcomes are achieved safely and in accordance with Council requirements.
• Coordinate event operations, logistics, stakeholder engagement and onsite delivery.
• Develop and maintain event administration systems, ensuring accurate record keeping and compliance with Council processes.
• Manage event budgets, purchase orders, invoicing, financial tracking and administrative reporting.
• Prepare event documentation, schedules, run sheets, briefings, correspondence and post-event reports.
• Collect and analyse event data, feedback and evaluation measures to inform reporting and continuous improvement.
• Liaise with dignitaries, elected representatives, government agencies and partners.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with sponsors, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
