Job summary

Melba Support Services in Sale, Victoria is hiring a Casual Disability Support Worker to help people with disability live meaningful, self-directed lives. You’ll provide personalised support across SIL, ISA, Community Participation and STA, promoting independence, choice and participation.

Qualifications

• Ability to support people to live self-directed lives with dignity and respect.
• Willingness to follow support plans, policies and procedures.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to obtain First Aid/CPR and relevant screening checks.

Responsibilities

• Support people to build independence, confidence and life skills.
• Assist people to participate in community, recreational, educational and employment activities.
• Provide practical day-to-day support, including personal care as required.
• Support health and wellbeing, including medication assistance where required and authorised.
• Build positive relationships with people supported, families and networks.
• Maintain accurate documentation and records.
• Collaborate with colleagues to deliver safe, high-quality, person-led support.
