Job summary

Melba Support Services is seeking a Disability Support Worker to provide personalised, person-led assistance across SIL, ISA, and community programs in Ballarat. No prior disability experience is required, but a passion for dignity and choice is essential.

You will support independence, build skills and help participants access daily activities and services. You'll work within a supportive team, maintain records and follow care plans, with opportunities for ongoing learning and career

Qualifications

• Demonstrated commitment to dignity, respect and choice for people with disability.
• Excellent relationship-building and communication skills.
• Willingness to learn and follow support plans, policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide tailored support to help people build independence, confidence and life skills.
• Assist with participation in community, recreational, educational and employment-related activities.
• Provide practical day-to-day support including personal care and daily living tasks as required.
• Support health and wellbeing, including medication assistance where authorised.
• Maintain accurate documentation and records and work with the team to deliver high-quality, person-led support.
