Job summary

Hoban Recruitment is seeking an IDS Officer to provide Level 1 IT support across election hubs, early voting centres, mobile sites, and venues in Horsham and surrounding areas. You will be the first point of contact for technical issues, ensuring systems run smoothly during critical election periods.

This hands-on role blends helpdesk support with on-site field work, covering laptops, printers, networks, user accounts, and the ERMO system, across multiple sites with travel between locations.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in Level 1 IT support.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, Teams, and general PC environments.
• Ability to prioritise tasks in high-pressure environments.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to support non-technical users.
• Experience with device deployment, asset management, or basic networking is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide Level 1 IT support via phone, email, and ticketing systems
• Log, triage, and resolve incidents within service standards
• Troubleshoot user access, Windows environments, printers, and network issues
• Deploy, configure, and test IT equipment across multiple sites
• Support ERMO setup, synchronisation, and return processes
• Stage, update, and distribute devices across locations
• Maintain accurate asset tracking and documentation
• Escalate issues based on priority and collaborate with broader teams
