Job summary

YMCA Queensland is seeking an enthusiastic Educational Leader to join the Kurwongbah OSHC team on a permanent part-time basis. In this role you’ll shape engaging programs that support children’s learning outside school hours, guide a team of educators, and ensure every child feels safe, supported and included.

Under guidance of our Children’s Services Leadership Team, you’ll drive inspiring programs, coach staff, champion child-centered play-based learning aligned with the approved learning

Qualifications

• Diploma in Children’s Services or equivalent (desirable).
• Minimum three years’ experience in an Early Childhood Education and Care setting.
• Comprehensive working knowledge of the approved learning framework.
• Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor others.
• Demonstrated excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of child development, attachment and learning.
• Understanding of leadership theories and diverse leadership styles.
• First Aid and CPR certification current or willingness to obtain.
• Paid Blue Card current or willingness to obtain.

• Drive the creation, delivery and ongoing improvement of engaging educational programs for children outside school hours.
• Guide, motivate and empower educators to shine and reach their potential.
• Champion child-centred, play-based learning aligned with the latest frameworks.
• Build a positive, inclusive culture where team members feel valued.
• Lead by example and promote reflective practice and best-in-class teaching.
• Collaborate with families, schools and community partners to support each child.
• Ensure programs meet compliance and maintain high standards of care.
