Job summary

YMCA Queensland invites an Educational Leader to join the Outside School Hours Care team on a permanent part-time basis. You will shape engaging programs for children, guide educators, and ensure safe, inclusive learning outside school hours.

You will work with families and partners to build a supportive network while upholding high standards of care. The role emphasizes leadership, collaboration, and ongoing program improvement within a not-for-profit community-focused organization offering

Qualifications

• Diploma in Children’s Services or equivalent is desirable.
• Minimum three years’ experience in an Early Childhood Education and Care setting.
• Comprehensive working knowledge of the approved learning framework.
• Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor others.
• Demonstrated excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of child development, attachment and learning.
• Understanding of evidence-based best practice approaches to teaching and learning.
• Working knowledge of leadership theory and leadership styles.
• Current First Aid and CPR Certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Current Paid Blue Card (or willingness to obtain).

• Drive the creation, delivery and ongoing improvement of inspiring educational programs for children.
• Coach, motivate and empower educators to perform at their best.
• Champion child-centered, play-based learning following the latest frameworks.
• Foster a positive, inclusive and collaborative culture.
• Lead by example with reflective practice and best-in-class teaching.
• Collaborate with families, schools and community partners to support each child.
• Ensure programs meet and exceed compliance and care standards.
