Job summary

Mercure Resort on the Gold Coast seeks a Duty Technician & Maintenance Supervisor to lead a small engineering team across 292 rooms, pools, and conference spaces. You will oversee day-to-day maintenance, perform preventative work, and ensure operations run smoothly in a hospitality setting.

You’ll bring 2+ years supervising maintenance, HVAC knowledge, and strong communication. The role includes roster support with a focus on safety and guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising maintenance operations (ideally 2 years+).
• Strong technical knowledge of plant & equipment maintenance.
• Knowledge of hotel building services & maintenance.
• Guest-focused mindset, delivering exceptional service standards.
• Experience & efficiency using Microsoft Office Suite (HUB OS & Opera Cloud advantageous).

Responsibilities

• This is a working supervisor position, requiring a hands-on approach to maintenance operations while providing leadership & support to the engineering team
• Perform preventative maintenance across the resort
• Supervising and supporting a team of 4 Handypersons
• Prioritize and coordinate daily maintenance activities
• Diagnose, maintain, & repair mechanical, electrical & hydraulic systems
• Monitor contractor activities & compliance with Accor standards
• Monitor utility consumption & identify opportunities for energy conservation
• Support with rostering & staff training requirements

Where you’ll be working

As Duty Technician Supervisor at Mercure Resort, there is variety in every day. Working across the 292 guest rooms, 2 pools, recreation areas, restaurant, conference spaces, lobby, reception, kitchens, and offices. You’ll support the Chief Engineer and maintenance team to ensure all areas are running smoothly.
