Job summary

RDJones Group's The Midway venue in Adelaide is seeking an experienced duty manager to oversee service across a busy hospitality and gaming environment. You will supervise staff, monitor operations, and report issues to the venue manager while ensuring RSA, gaming and liquor licensing compliance.

This full-time salaried role requires a proactive approach to wage control, stock and cash handling, and training of team members.

Qualifications

• Must have current advanced gaming training.
• Experience in a busy venue, especially gaming.
• Strong problem-solving skills and calm decision-making.
• Able to supervise and train staff effectively.
• Maintain wage controls and stock/cash handling practices.
• Hold a current Responsible Person badge.
• Work across a 7-day roster.

With our incredible renovation complete, including brand new children's playground and extended bistro, The Midway is home to an experienced and truly cohesive team who deliver an unforgettable experience for our customers.

About the Role

Work across all areas of the venue, supervising and directing staff to ensure excellent service at all times.

Ensure day to day operations are running efficiently, reporting any maintenance issues and making suggestions to improve.

Monitor staffing levels to balance service goals and wage expenses.

Communicate shift report clearly to the venue manager so they are aware of staff and hotel performance as well as any customer issues or barrings.

About You

Enjoy connecting with people and have a ‘service’ mindset.

Have a thorough understanding of compliance relating to RSA, gaming and liquor licensing. (Must have current advanced gaming training)

Experience in a busy venue, especially gaming.

Excellent ability to solve problems in an effective, calm manner.

Able to supervise and direct staff in a respectful manner and to train them effectively.

Support the venue manager in controlling wages and ensuring proper stock control and cash handling practices.

Work across a 7-day roster.

Hold a current Responsible Person badge.

Experience with H&L beneficial.
