Job description

We are looking for an experienced Gaming Manager to join the team at Marrickville Tavern. Originally established as a local gathering place, the Tavern has evolved over the years to become a beloved sporting hub, celebrating the spirit of Marrickville.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a large Sydney based hotel group which encourages career growth opportunities. Sonnel Hospitality Group owns and operates multiple venues throughout Sydney. Whilst we have been established in the hotel industry for close to 40 years, we are always looking to increase our hotel portfolio, thus ensuring on-going career development and promotion.

About the Role

The Gaming Manager is responsible for the daily operations of the gaming room to ensure the highest standard of guest experience, compliance and teamwork.

Key responsibilities include:

• Manage daily operations across bar, gaming, and TAB sections, ensuring all areas are running smoothly.
• Supervise and support staff, providing guidance to uphold exceptional customer service standards.
• Enforce adherence to company policies and procedures, including cash control and compliance.
• Demonstrate strong attention to detail and effective communication skills.
• Flexibility to work across varying shifts, including days, nights, and weekends.
• Rotating rosters offer an opportunity to develop expertise in all aspects of hotel management.
• Preferred food & beverage experience in a supervisor role.

The successful applicant will:

• Essential requirements for this position is Current RSA, RCG & ARCG Competency Cards
• Be a motivational leader who encourages and develops the team to ensure an exceptional customer experience each time.
• Minimum of 1-2 years of management experience in a similar role with a strong knowledge of managing day-to-day operations of a venue with strong and complex trade
• Hands on approach in your leadership and management
• A friendly, outgoing personality with excellent people skills
• A passion for the hospitality industry with the desire to progress within the company
