Job summary

Lara Sporting Club in Lara, Victoria, is seeking a hands-on supervisor to oversee daily operations across bar, bistro, gaming, TAB and function spaces. You will lead by example, guide staff, and ensure high service standards while handling cash and maintaining safe work practices.

The role involves rostering, stock management, and supporting social media activities, with a strong focus on community service and compliant operations. RSA, RSG and gaming credentials are required.

Responsibilities

• Supervising daily operations across the bar, bistro, gaming, TAB and function areas.
• Providing friendly, professional service and resolving patron enquiries and concerns.
• Leading, coaching and supporting staff, including training new team members.
• Managing staffing during shifts to balance customer service with labour budgets.
• Overseeing cash handling, till balancing and reconciliation.
• Maintaining venue presentation, cleanliness and safe work practices.
• Supporting responsible gambling, liquor service, gaming, TAB and AML/CTF compliance, including accurate records and escalation of concerns.
• Assisting with stock ordering, stocktakes, rostering and operational improvements as required.
• Assist or manage our social media platforms.

Job description

Reporting to the Assistant Manager, you'll take responsibility for the smooth running of the venue during your shifts. You'll support and guide staff, maintain high service standards and confidently handle the unexpected. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys leading by example and is just as comfortable helping behind the bar or on the bistro floor as they are supervising operations.
