Job summary

The Alva Hotel Brisbane – Fortitude Valley is seeking a Duty Manager to lead our front office team and deliver service that feels personal and effortless. You will steady the shift, guide colleagues, and ensure every guest experiences the difference between this hotel and any other.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you’ll balance rosters, train staff, and resolve issues with judgment and warmth. A design‑led boutique vibe and the IHG Vignette Collection frame a role where hospitality matters

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in a Front Office supervisory or managerial role.
• Strong communication, negotiation and problem-resolution skills.
• Confidence with hotel systems, including OPERA.
• Availability across a rotating 7-day roster, including early mornings, nights, weekends and public holidays.
• Collaborative approach to handovers and cross-department support.
• Composure in a crisis — first responder in an emergency.
• Current First Aid/CPR certification.
• RSA Certificate.
• Open Manual driver's licence, without restriction.
• Unlimited work rights in Australia.
