Job summary

The Malvern Hotel in Melbourne is seeking an energetic, hands-on Duty Manager to lead our front-of-house and bar teams, ensuring seamless shift operations and hospitality excellence.

You will oversee opening and closing procedures, coordinate with kitchen, bar and floor, welcome guests, manage seating, resolve feedback, and mentor casual staff in a busy pub and dining room.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a shift supervisor/duty manager in a busy pub, bar or restaurant.
• Excellent communication, quick problem-solving and calm demeanor under pressure.
• Confidence in managing shifts.
• A passion for the hospitality industry.

We are seeking an energetic, hands-on Duty Manager to join our leadership team and drive seamless shift operations

Key Responsibilities

As a Duty Manager, you will be the face of the venue during your shifts. You will lead our front-of-house and bar teams from the front, ensuring our high standards of service and hospitality are consistently met.

Manage daily opening and closing procedures and coordinate seamlessly between kitchen, bar and floor teams

Welcome guests, manage seating and resolve customer feedback

Supervise, motivate and mentor casual staff

What we are looking for

Proven experience working as a shift supervisor/duty manager within a busy pub, bar or restaurant

Excellent communication, quick problem-solving skills and a calm demeanor under pressure

Confidence managing shifts
