Job summary

UPS in Sydney is seeking an operations assistant to support the day-to-day running of the operations department. You will assist with export operations—creating SLI, preparing labels and export packs for drivers—alongside managing daily imports and driver scheduling.

The ideal candidate has a minimum of 2 years in life science or clinical trial logistics, experience with import/export, knowledge of Sydney and surrounding areas, and strong time-management skills to perform well in a fast-paced

Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day operations of the operations department.
• Export operations: create SLI, prepare labels and export packs for drivers.
• Oversee daily imports deliveries.
• Schedule drivers and route planning.
• Dispatch duties including scanning freight and coverage for staff.
• Manage airline bookings, track shipments and counts.
• Ensure vans are serviced and safe, within standards.
• Collaborate with sub-contractors and other departments.
• Maintain accurate daily counts and paperwork.
• Adhere to company policies and housekeeping standards.

Job Summary

To assist with the day to day running of the operations department

Responsibilities

• Export operations –creating SLI, preparing labels and export pack for driver
• Imports – overseeing daily imports deliveries
• Driver scheduling – overseeing the routing of jobs for drivers as needed
• Dispatch - Scanning freight, accounting for freight Providing coverage for dispatch staff when they are on leave
• Singapore console counts – physical freight matches the system
• Problem solving – assisting supervisor with any discrepancies
• Credo – Preparing and approving
• Overseeing facility as required
• Domestic bookings as required
• Dealing with different departments on all facets of the business
• Dealing with sub-contractors and vendors
• Track and trace on shipments as required
• Airline bookings and other arrangements
• In conjunction with you manager, ensuring the company vans are serviced on a regular basis and are within a safe and working order.
• To ensure all daily counts are accurate
• Ensure paperwork create dis within company and airline standards
• Co-operate with all Marken in a professional manner
• Ensure that a high standard of general housekeeping is maintained on a ‘clean as you go basis

Skills And Experience

• Minimum of 2 year experience in the life science and clinical trial industry
• Experience with import and export
• Understanding of Sydney & surrounding areas
• Understanding of running a fleet
• Knowledge of time and temperature requirements for clinical trials
• Strong understanding of the life science industry (desirable)
• Excellent time management skills
• Ability to multi task
• Be able to work through problems as they arise and find quick functioning solutions (desirable)
• Is able to work in a fast paced environment (desirable)
• Year 12 education completion
