Job summary

Melba Support Services is seeking a dedicated Disability Support Worker to assist people with disability to live meaningful, self-directed lives across a range of services. You will provide personalised support, promote independence and help clients achieve their goals in everyday activities and the community.

Qualifications

• No prior disability experience required
• Commitment to human rights, inclusion and person-led practice
• Ability to follow support plans, policies and procedures

Responsibilities

• Provide personalised support tailored to each person’s goals and needs
• Help people participate in community, recreational, educational and employment activities
• Assist with personal care and daily living tasks as required
• Support health and wellbeing, including medication assistance where authorised
• Build positive relationships with people supported, families and networks
• Maintain accurate documentation and records; collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders to ensure safe, high-quality, person-led support
