Job summary

AngloGold Ashanti Australia is seeking a senior Open Pit Planning lead based in Perth to develop robust Life-of-Mine strategies for Australian assets. You will drive value, align physical and cost profiles, and deliver comprehensive business planning and study outcomes.

The role requires 15+ years of Open Pit mining experience, strong analytical and communication skills, and familiarity with technical planning tools. Travel to mine sites is expected as part of the role.

Qualifications

• A degree qualification in a mining-related discipline or other.
• Fifteen years’ experience in the industry with demonstrated Open Pit gold mining project experience.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proactive issue/opportunity identification.
• Exposure to first principles cost modelling and financial analysis.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and optimisation of Life-of-Mine Open Pit asset strategies.
• Drive value creation and continuous improvement.
• Ensure alignment of physical and cost profiles; deliver planning outputs.
• Develop systems and processes to support Open Pit Planning.
• Build organisational capability within the Australia Business Unit.
• Provide Open Pit mining support services to operations.
• Lead reporting of Open Pit Ore Reserves with sign-off by Competent Persons.
