Job summary

AngloGold Ashanti Australia seeks a highly experienced Director Open Pit Mining to lead Life-of-Mine planning for Australian Open Pit assets. You will identify constraints, evaluate sustainable improvements, and drive value creation across planning cycles within the Australia Region.

Reporting to the VP Technical Services, you will develop robust mine plans, ensure alignment between physical and cost profiles, and mentor the planning team while maintaining strong internal and external

Qualifications

A degree qualification in a relevant mining-related discipline or other.
A minimum of fifteen years’ experience in the industry with demonstrated experience working on Open Pit gold mining projects.
Strong analytical skills, combined with high attention to detail and the ability to proactively identify impacts, issues and opportunities.
Familiarity with Vulcan, Surpac, Whittle, Alastri, MineMax highly desirable.
Exposure to first principles cost modelling and strong financial analysis.

Responsibilities

Lead development of Life-of-Mine (LOM) Open Pit asset strategies for the Australia Region.
Drive value creation, alignment of physicals and cost profiles, and study outcomes.
Develop planning systems and processes, and build organisational capability.
Provide Open Pit mining support services to operations and sign off on technical reviews.
Lead reporting of Open Pit Ore Reserves and support Competent Persons.
