Job summary

AngloGold Ashanti Australia Limited is seeking a Principal, Mining Underground to lead underground mine planning and provide technical support across a global portfolio. The role is based in Perth, with travel to sites domestically and internationally, including roles in Denver or Johannesburg.

The candidate will oversee planning and scheduling, while mentoring engineers and coordinating with Operations to drive safety, efficiency and excellence.

Qualifications

• Degree in mining-related discipline required.
• 15+ years mining industry experience.
• Advanced design and scheduling software skills (Deswik/Datamine).

Responsibilities

• Provide expert mining and mine planning support to assigned operations.
• Deliver technical input for mining components of studies and stage gate reviews.
• Collaborate to develop integrated plans identifying opportunities and coach engineers.
• Assist operations globally in Full Asset Potential processes to improve cost and performance.
• Develop and enhance mining planning systems and ensure proper operation and reporting.
