AngloGold Ashanti Australia seeks an experienced Principal, Mining Underground to provide hands‑on mine planning and scheduling leadership across assets in a global portfolio. The role involves travel to sites and international assignments, reporting to the Director - Mining Underground.

Perth, Denver or Johannesburg offices are referenced with global deployment as required. You will drive integrated plans, coach engineers, and contribute to cost and performance improvements while upholding

Qualifications

• Underground mining leadership experience with multi‑faceted teams.
• Degree in a mining‑related discipline.
• -min 15 years' experience in mining.
• Advanced design/scheduling software skills with Deswik/Datamine.
• Solid understanding of geology, geotechnical, metallurgy and mining studies.
• Ability to make short‑term tactical decisions by rapidly interpreting data.
• Capability to balance multiple priorities with strategic company goals.
• Strong interpersonal, influencing and communication skills.
• Willingness to work with a diverse, international team.
• Commitment to core values and safety practices.
• Eligible to work in the countries involved with visas where required.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert mining and mine planning support to assigned operations.
• Deliver input for studies and project stage reviews.
• Collaborate with units to develop integrated plans and coaching.
• Assist operations in cost and performance improvements via full asset potential.
• Develop and enhance mining planning systems and ensure proper operation.
• Support and review Mineral Resource and Ore Reserve processes.
