Job summary

AngloGold Ashanti Australia is seeking a Director Geotechnical Engineering – Open Pit to lead strategic and technical geotechnical efforts across global assets. You will develop options, manage risk, and mentor specialist teams while aligning standards with corporate objectives.

You will travel internationally to support projects in diverse operations and drive continuous improvement, collaboration, and innovation across the geotechnical community of practice.

Qualifications

• Post-graduate degree in mining-related geotechnical engineering.
• At least 15 years geotechnical engineering experience in the mining industry.
• Experience in exploration, mine development and primary mining activities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities with strategic alignment.
• National Police Clearance.
• Australian working rights (Mandatory).

Responsibilities

• Provide expert Open Pit Geotechnical leadership across AGA’s global assets.
• Lead development and implementation of geotechnical standards, systems and processes.
• Provide input into business plans and risk management activities.
• Ensure geotechnical designs and mine plans meet standards.
• Lead and develop geotechnical teams with coaching and mentoring.
• Drive continuous improvement and knowledge sharing within the practice.
