Job summary

Coogee Bay Hotel in Coogee, NSW is seeking a dedicated Demi Chef to join our kitchen team. You will help run day-to-day operations and contribute to memorable guest experiences.

You will assist the Head Chef with menu planning, food quality, preparation, presentation, and standards across all shifts, while supporting budgeting and wages where required.

This full-time role offers 38 hours per week with a salary range AUD 79,500–84,000.

Qualifications

• Qualified in commercial cookery and hospitality management.
• 1–3 years of experience in large commercial kitchens.
• Experience working in teams of different sizes.
• Experience cooking a wide variety of cuisines.
• Able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Ensure presentation and cleanliness of the kitchen is maintained to a high standard.
• Ensure the highest quality and presentation of all food products served, including the production and preparation of food.
• Maintain, review and improve food stock control systems and processes.
• Supervise and train junior kitchen staff to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the kitchen.
• Adhere to Workplace Health & Safety and Food Safety Standards.
• Ensure stock levels for trade requirements are maintained for food and related equipment.
• Ensure regular and concise food stock takes are conducted and any discrepancies are investigated.
• Assist with the check of all kitchen deliveries and creation of purchase orders to match all invoices received for kitchen supplies.
