Job summary

IHG Hotels & Resorts is seeking a Full-time Demi Chef to prepare dishes for our à la carte Riverside Kitchen, delivering quality, flavor and presentation. You will maintain hygiene, stock control, and smooth kitchen operations while contributing to memorable guest experiences.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in a commercial kitchen, with hotel experience preferred, and hold Commercial Cookery/Culinary Arts qualifications along with Food Safety certification.

Qualifications

• Experience in a commercial kitchen, ideally in a Hotel.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a chef; supervisory experience is an advantage.
• Right to work full time in Australia.
• Qualifications in Commercial Cookery/Culinary Arts.
• Food safety certification.
• Excellent communication – warm, welcoming and easy to talk to.
• Flexibility – night, weekend and public holiday shifts are all part of the job.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritise workload.

Responsibilities

• Make every meal visually appealing for a la carte dining.
• Own your workstation – monitor supplies, equipment and waste.
• Coach and develop the team; provide feedback.
• Maintain HACCP hygiene standards.
• Assist with washing up and other kitchen duties.
• Perform ad-hoc duties as a collaborative team player.
