Job summary

Minor Hotels is seeking a skilled and motivated Demi Chef to join the AVANI Cypress Lakes Resort kitchen on a full-time basis.

You will prepare and cook a variety of dishes, assist with plating, maintain food safety standards, and support the team to deliver exceptional guest experiences. Previous Demi Chef experience and a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery are preferred; weekend availability is required.

Qualifications

• Previous Demi Chef or similar kitchen role experience.
• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent preferred.
• Knowledge of cooking techniques and presentation standards.
• Understanding of HACCP, OH&S and kitchen hygiene requirements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a variety of dishes in line with menu standards and guest expectations.
• Assist in development and plating of high-quality meals.
• Maintain cleanliness, organisation and compliance with food safety, hygiene, and WHS standards.
• Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure efficient service.
• Support and mentor junior kitchen staff where required.
• Contribute to menu planning, recipe development and kitchen efficiency improvements.
