Job summary

Sharon AI is expanding its operations team in Melbourne, Australia, inviting a hands-on Data Centre Technician to join the day-to-day management of critical infrastructure environments.

You will install, configure and maintain data centre hardware, manage structured cabling, monitor systems and respond to incidents, while collaborating with engineers and vendors to ensure reliability and uptime in a fast-growing AI infrastructure company.

Qualifications

• Experience in live data centre or critical infrastructure environments.
• Hands-on with servers, storage, networking, cabling and infrastructure.
• Familiar with ITIL processes and service management.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure and maintain data centre hardware including servers, storage systems, networking equipment and racks.
• Perform structured cabling works across copper and fibre infrastructure to industry standards.
• Support rack and stack deployments, hardware upgrades, migrations and decommissioning activities.
• Monitor systems and respond to operational alerts, incidents and service requests.
• Troubleshoot hardware, connectivity and infrastructure-related issues.
• Support high-performance compute and AI infrastructure environments.
• Maintain accurate documentation including layouts, asset registers and operational procedures.
• Conduct routine inspections across power, cooling, airflow and physical infrastructure systems.
• Follow change management and operational governance processes aligned to ITIL practices.
• Work collaboratively with engineers, vendors and operational stakeholders to ensure service reliability and uptime.

As we continue to grow, we are looking for a hands-on Data Centre Technician to join our operations team and support the day-to-day management of critical infrastructure environments. What You’ll Be Doing

• Install, configure and maintain data centre hardware including servers, storage systems, networking equipment and racks

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience working within live data centre or critical infrastructure environments
• Strong hands-on knowledge of server hardware, structured cabling and networking concepts
• Experience with fibre and copper cabling installation, testing and troubleshooting
• Familiarity with switching, routing and enterprise infrastructure environments
• Understanding of PDUs, UPS systems and cooling infrastructure
• Strong problem-solving capability and ability to work independently
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
• Customer-focused mindset with strong attention to detail
• Working knowledge of ITIL processes and service management principles
• Relevant certifications such as CompTIA, ITIL or similar are highly regarded

Desirable Qualifications

• CompTIA Server+, Network+ or similar infrastructure certifications
• ITIL Foundation certification or exposure to structured IT service management environments
• Experience working within enterprise, hyperscale or high-performance compute data centre environments
• Exposure to DCIM tools, monitoring platforms or infrastructure management systems
• Basic scripting or automation knowledge (e.g. PowerShell, Python) is advantageous
• Experience supporting GPU infrastructure or AI-related compute environments will be highly regarded
