Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Data Centre Technician to join our Melbourne data centres, maintaining high-density servers and networking gear. You will work with engineers across AWS to ensure safety, security, and optimal uptime while supporting cost-efficient operations.

Responsibilities include installing racks, diagnosing hardware and power issues, and supporting 24x7 on-call rotations. You will collaborate with vendors, service providers and internal teams to sustain world-class infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT/CS or a related field.
• 1+ years networking experience and Linux OS.
• Ability to lift and rack equipment up to 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high system reliability by prioritising and resolving trouble tickets.
• Troubleshoot issues on Systems, Power/Mechanical.
• Install and configure racks of hosts per internal SLAs.
• Triage and resolve trouble tickets for devices in your region.
• Meet 24x7 On-Call requirements and participate in shift rotations.
• Interact with third party vendors and contractors.
