AWS Infrastructure Services is seeking a Data Center Operations Engineer for the Melbourne data center region. You will support maintenance and emergency services across critical infrastructure, manage on-site vendors, and drive improvements in capacity, safety, and efficiency.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of relevant work experience.
• Can bend or twist the body into unusual positions while working.
• Can use hands to manipulate small wires and objects.
• Can walk on job sites in uneven terrain.
• 4+ years of data center engineering experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience in data center engineering.
• Can perform physical tasks all day without becoming overly tired.

Responsibilities

• Undertake and support maintenance and emergency service of critical systems (switch-gear, generators, UPS, power distribution, chillers, cooling towers, CRACs, fire systems).
• Install new rack capacity and provisioning of power/cooling.
• On-site management of contractors and vendors, ensuring compliance with practices and local legislation.
• Establish performance benchmarks, analyses and reports for critical facility operations and maintenance; manage assets.
• Generate change and incident management tickets for facility events; assist in resolution.
• Coordinate day-to-day operations with data center IT managers and leaders to optimize capacity, safety, reliability, and efficiency.
• Drive and implement projects to increase facility capacity, efficiency, sustainability, and reliability.
