Customer Service Officer | Customer Operations

Full Time | On Site | Manufacturing & Distribution

Love being busy, solving problems and making things happen?

We're looking for a switched-on Customer Service Officer to join a fast-paced customer service team within an established Australian manufacturing business. This isn't a role where you'll simply answer phones all day. You'll manage your own group of customers, coordinate orders from start to finish and work closely with Sales, Planning, Warehouse, Inventory and Logistics to keep things moving.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll become a key contact for your customers and take ownership of their orders and enquiries. Your day will include:

• Managing customer orders from entry through to delivery


• Processing orders received via email, phone and EDI


• Managing your own portfolio of customers


• Keeping customers updated on stock, back orders and delivery timeframes


• Solving order and delivery issues


• Working closely with Sales, Planning, Warehouse and Logistics


• Processing credits and returns


• Monitoring automated/EDI orders and resolving exceptions


• Updating customer and order information within the ERP system


• Investigating customer queries and finding solutions


• Building strong relationships with customers and internal teams


• Looking for smarter ways to improve processes and the customer experience

What You’ll Bring

We're more interested in finding someone with the right attitude, capability and customer mindset than someone who ticks every box. You may already have experience in customer service, sales support, order processing, administration or a similar customer-facing role and be ready for your next step.

You’ll ideally bring:

• Experience working with customers in a busy environment


• Confidence picking up the phone and having conversations with customers


• Strong computer and systems skills


• The ability to learn new systems quickly


• Great organisation and attention to detail

Experience using an ERP system, EDI or working within manufacturing, distribution, building products or industrial products would be great — but it's not essential if you're a quick learner with the right attitude.
