KE Select is partnering with an established organisation in the scientific and laboratory supply sector to recruit a proactive Customer Service Officer. The role blends customer service, internal sales administration and relationship management to support growth.

You will manage inquiries, quotations and orders, build strong customer relationships and collaborate with Account Managers to drive commercial outcomes in a fast-paced environment.

Customer Service Officer - Scientific and Laboratory

KE Select is partnering with an established organisation operating within the scientific and laboratory supply sector to recruit an experienced Customer Service Representative.

Our client provides a broad range of specialised products and solutions to customers across the scientific and laboratory industry. The role has a strong focus on customer relationships, service excellence and operational efficiency, the business is seeking a proactive and customer-focused professional to join its team.

About the Role

Reporting to the National Sales Manager, this position offers a diverse mix of customer service, sales administration, relationship management and proactive sales support.

You will play an important role in delivering a positive customer experience, managing enquiries and orders, coordinating service requirements and supporting the broader sales team. Beyond day-to-day customer support, you will also have the opportunity to build customer relationships, identify sales opportunities and contribute to ongoing business growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage customer enquiries relating to products, pricing, availability, orders and deliveries.
• Prepare and process customer quotations and sales orders accurately and efficiently.
• Proactively follow up quotations and engage with existing and prospective customers.
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships to support retention and growth.
• Identify opportunities for cross‑selling, upselling and promoting new products.
• Coordinate equipment servicing, repairs and warranty enquiries with suppliers and service providers.
• Liaise with internal sales, warehouse and logistics teams to ensure timely order fulfilment.
• Maintain accurate customer records, sales activities and opportunities within the CRM system.
• Assist customers with online ordering, account registrations and eCommerce enquiries.
• Work collaboratively with Account Managers to support sales initiatives and customer requirements.

About You

We are seeking a proactive, organised and personable individual who enjoys building relationships, solving problems and delivering exceptional customer service.

To be successful, you will ideally bring:

• Previous experience in customer service, internal sales, sales support or a similar customer‑facing role.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer‑first approach.
• Experience managing quotations, processing orders and coordinating customer requirements.
• Confidence engaging with customers over the phone and identifying potential sales opportunities.
• Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Experience using CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications.
• A collaborative attitude, commercial awareness and a willingness to take initiative.

Experience within scientific, laboratory, medical, technical or industrial products would be advantageous; however, candidates from other product‑based or distribution environments with strong customer service and sales support experience are encouraged to apply.

Benefits

Typical $60,000 to $68,000 plus super for permanent roles, or around $30 to $34 an hour plus super for temp work, depending on the client.
