Job summary

St John of God Warrnambool Hospital is seeking an Instrument Technician to join the CSSD in a part-time role. You will rotate through all CSSD areas, handling decontamination, assembly, sterilisation, autoclaving, and distribution to support multiple theatres.

Will work primarily on weekdays with some weekend shifts, up to 48 hours per fortnight, and will have opportunities to advance to Grade 3 after Certificate III completion. Strong WHS knowledge and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum six months’ experience as an Instrument Technician.
• Willing to undertake training to achieve a Certificate III in Sterilisation Services.
• Knowledge of WHS/OHS and infection prevention and control.

Responsibilities

• Process, autoclave and distribute sterile supplies.
• Liaise with caregivers in the Operating Suite to support patient care.
• Integrate into nursing team to provide optimal patient care.
• Communicate effectively with customers and patients via appropriate channels.
• Participate in quality improvement and risk management.
