Job summary

Pivotal Business Systems is seeking a skilled Copier Technician to join our Newcastle-based field service team across the Mid North Coast and Hunter Valley. This full-time role installs, maintains, repairs and troubleshoots multifunction copiers and related office equipment at client sites, ensuring minimal downtime and high customer satisfaction.

Job description

Pivotal Business Systems is seeking a skilled and dedicated Copier Technician to join our technical services team in Newcastle, the Mid North Coast and Hunter Valley. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in maintaining and supporting our clients' document management and imaging equipment. As a Copier Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair and troubleshooting of multifunction copiers and related office equipment. This position is essential to ensuring our clients experience minimal downtime and receive exceptional technical support, directly contributing to their operational efficiency and satisfaction with Pivotal Business Systems.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure and commission copiers and multifunction devices at client locations
• Perform preventative maintenance on copiers and related office equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity
• Diagnose and resolve technical faults and malfunctions in a timely and professional manner
• Respond to client service calls and troubleshoot issues both remotely and on-site
• Perform routine repairs including replacing consumables, components and spare parts
• Document all service activities, maintenance schedules and repairs in accordance with company procedures
• Provide technical support and guidance to clients on equipment operation and best practices
• Maintain accurate records of all work completed and materials used
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies whilst on client premises
• Liaise with clients and internal teams to coordinate service schedules and resolve issues efficiently

What we're looking for

• Relevant qualifications or certification in electronics, electromechanics or a related technical field
• Proven experience as a copier technician, multifunction device technician or similar role in office equipment servicing
• Strong knowledge of copier systems, imaging technology and multifunction device architecture
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and test equipment
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to work methodically through technical issues
• Sound understanding of electrical systems and mechanical components relevant to office equipment
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical clients
• Reliability and punctuality with the ability to manage time effectively across multiple service calls
• A valid driver's licence and willingness to travel to various client locations within the service area
• Physical capability to lift and manoeuvre equipment safely
• Commitment to maintaining high standards of health and safety on client premises
