Job summary

The Star Sydney is seeking a Commis Chef to join Harvest Buffet. You will support the Jr Sous Chef, participate in all food prep, and help maintain safety and hygiene in a fast-paced kitchen.

You should be a Culinary School graduate with an apprenticeship in Commercial Cookery, able to work mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays, and eager to train and develop skills while delivering consistent high standards.

Qualifications

• Graduated from culinary school with apprenticeship in commercial cookery.
• Experience after apprenticeship in food prep in varied cuisines and high-volume settings.
• Able to work a rotating roster including mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Lead or support the assigned section as directed by the Jr Sous Chef and train junior staff.
• Assist with fundamental cooking and food preparation tasks.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment and workstations.
• Complete all duties in line with hygiene requirements.
• Ensure consistency and high quality in a fast-paced environment.
