The Star Sydney is seeking a hands-on Commis Chef to join our busy kitchen teams across The Darling, The Star Event Centre and The Lyric Theatre. You will learn under a Jr Sous Chef and contribute to flawless product execution in a safe, hygienic environment.

In this role you will assist with cooking and food prep, keep equipment and stations clean, and ensure high quality in a fast-paced setting while embracing our values and standards.

Qualifications

• Culinary School Graduate with apprenticeship in Commercial Cookery.
• Experience in diverse cuisines and high-volume settings.
• Good communication skills and knowledge of liquor laws.

Responsibilities

• Support or lead the assigned section as directed by the Jr Sous Chef.
• Assist with fundamental cooking and food preparation tasks.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment and workstations.
• Comply with hygiene requirements and safety standards.
• Deliver consistency and high quality in a fast-paced kitchen.
