The Star Sydney is seeking a passionate Commis Chef to join our kitchen team. Reporting to the Sous Chef, this hands-on role delivers flawless product execution in a safety-first environment and supports junior staff while maintaining high hygiene standards.

• Culinary School graduate with apprenticeship in Commercial Cookery.
• Experience in high-volume kitchen and diverse cuisines.
• Flexibility to work a rotating roster including mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Support or lead the assigned section as directed by the Jr Sous Chef.
• Assist with fundamental cooking and food preparation tasks.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment and workstations.
• Complete all duties in line with company and statutory hygiene requirements.
• Meet requirements for consistency and high quality in a fast-paced environment.
