The Star Sydney is hiring for Cook or Commis/Demi Chef roles in a high-volume, hands-on kitchen in Sydney. You will work under the Restaurant Sous Chef, focusing on flawless execution, safety, and creativity across menus and service periods.

Qualifications

• High-volume culinary experience.
• Can-do attitude and ability to work well as part of a team.
• Strong knowledge of food safety regulations.
• Ability to work a rotating roster including nights and weekends.
• Certificate III Commercial Cookery or higher for Commis/Demi Chef.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean working environment while preparing food in line with quality expectations and fluctuating volumes
• Consistently maintain a thorough knowledge of the entire menu, including an understanding of all base products and ingredients used
• Ensure food presentation meets menu requirements and kitchen standards (SOPs)
• Demonstrate knowledge of and be able to use a broad range of cooking and food preparation equipment and skills, such as sauté, braising etc
