Job summary

voco Gold Coast is looking for a Part-Time Commis Chef to join our Kitchen team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who loves working in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in what they create and wants to develop their skills alongside an experienced team.

As our Commis Chef, you’ll support the Kitchen team across daily food preparation and service, helping us deliver consistently great dining experiences for our guests.

Qualifications

• Experience in a hotel or similar commercial kitchen environment.
• Genuine passion for food and hospitality.
• Able to work in a busy, supportive team.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in work.
• Reliable, organised and able to work under pressure.
• Rotating roster including weekends, evenings and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and presenting dishes to a high standard.
• Supporting the kitchen team across preparation and service.
• Maintaining a clean, organised and safe work environment.
• Following food safety, hygiene and workplace procedures.
• Assisting with stock rotation, storage and minimising food waste.
• Working collaboratively with chefs and the wider Food & Beverage team.
• Bringing a positive attitude and willingness to learn every shift.

• Is reliable, organised and able to work under pressure
• Has flexibility to work across a rotating roster, including weekends, evenings and public holidays
• Holds relevant cookery qualifications
