Job summary

voco Gold Coast is seeking a Part-Time Commis Chef to join our Kitchen team. You will support daily food preparation, present dishes to a high standard, maintain a clean and safe workspace, and follow food safety procedures.

We value passion for hospitality, reliability, and the ability to work in a busy, rotating roster including weekends and evenings. Cookery qualifications are required.

Qualifications

• Has previous experience in a commercial kitchen, ideally within a hotel or similar environment.
• Has a genuine passion for food and hospitality.
• Works well as part of a busy, supportive team.
• Has strong attention to detail and takes pride in their work.
• Is reliable, organised and able to work under pressure.
• Has flexibility to work across a rotating roster, including weekends, evenings and public holidays.
• Holds relevant cookery qualifications

Responsibilities

• Preparing and presenting dishes to a high standard.
• Supporting the kitchen team across preparation and service.
• Maintaining a clean, organised and safe work environment.
• Following food safety, hygiene and workplace procedures.
• Assisting with stock rotation, storage and minimising food waste.
• Working collaboratively with chefs and the wider Food & Beverage team.
• Bringing a positive attitude and willingness to learn every shift
