Job summary

Adventure Plus, an Australian designer and manufacturer of playground equipment, is seeking an experienced CNC Router Operator / Component Fabricator – Plastics to join its Production team in Melbourne. You will program, nest and run the CNC router to produce high-quality playground components from HDPE sheet, while maintaining quality and efficiency.

You will be involved in setup, tooling, material handling and quality checks, with opportunities to develop skills across other manufacturing

Qualifications

• Experience operating a CNC router and programming/nesting
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and plans
• Strong measuring and marking skills
• Comfort using power hand tools and basic computer skills

Responsibilities

• Load and secure HDPE, aluminium, perspex and other sheet materials

adventure+ is an Australian designer, manufacturer and installer of innovative playground and outdoor recreation equipment. For more than 40 years, we have been creating custom play spaces for schools, councils, landscape architects, developers and communities across Australia.

We are looking for an experienced CNC Router Operator / Component Fabricator – Plastics to join our Production team.

This is a hands-on manufacturing role where you will be responsible for operating our CNC router and producing high-quality playground components, primarily from HDPE plastic sheet.

About the role

Working as part of our Production team, you will be involved in the full CNC routing process — from programming and nesting through to machine setup, production, finishing and quality checking.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Programming and operating CNC routing equipment
• Planning production sequences and nesting shapes to maximise material usage
• Setting up the CNC router and maintaining cutter tooling
• Loading and securing HDPE plastic, aluminium, perspex and other sheet materials
• Monitoring machine operation, quality and production efficiency
• Unloading, finishing and preparing completed components
• Sorting components into project batches and ensuring jobs are production-ready
• Reading and interpreting plans, technical drawings and production documentation
• Measuring and marking materials accurately
• Completing quality checks and rectifying components where required
• Assisting with component assembly and other manufacturing activities
• Supporting general factory and warehouse activities when required
• Maintaining a clean, organised and safe work area

You will also have the opportunity to develop skills across other areas of our manufacturing operation and assist with components made from materials including steel, aluminium, plastic and rope.

About you

We are looking for someone who:

• Has previous experience operating a CNC router
• Is confident using power hand tools
• Can read and interpret technical drawings and plans
• Has strong measuring and marking skills
• Has a good understanding of manufacturing processes
• Has a strong eye for detail and quality
• Can work accurately to production requirements and deadlines
• Is comfortable working as part of a team
• Has good basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and CNC/machine software
• Has experience with materials handling and forklift operation
• A forklift licence and relevant manufacturing or trade experience would be highly regarded.
