Job summary

Arcare is seeking a dedicated cleaner for its Queensland aged care facilities in Townsville. The role focuses on maintaining a clean, safe and hygienic environment for residents, including regular cleaning of rooms and common areas, and proper waste management.

You will work within a supportive team and have access to training opportunities. You must be adaptable, collaborative and possess strong communication skills, with eligibility to work in Australia and the ability to obtain an NDIS Worker

Responsibilities

• Cleaning and Disinfecting: Regularly clean and disinfect resident rooms, common areas, bathrooms, and other areas throughout the facility.
• Waste Management: Dispose of waste, including both regular trash and medical waste, in accordance with proper guidelines and safety protocols.
• Infection Control: Follow strict infection control procedures, such as using appropriate cleaning agents and personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent the spread of infections.
• Stocking Supplies: Ensure that cleaning and hygiene supplies (such as soaps, sanitizers, and cleaning agents) are adequately stocked and available for residents and staff.
• Equipment: Using floor scrubbers, vacuums, cleaning trolleys and consumables.
