Job summary

Sts Peter and Paul Primary School in Canberra’s inner south seeks a Classroom Support Assistant to work with teachers and diverse learners, helping create an inclusive learning environment. This temporary role supports students’ academic progress, social development and engagement in school life.

Qualifications

• ACT Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) clearance is required.
• Certificate III in School-based Education Support or pursuing an ITE program is acceptable.
• Accreditation in accordance with Work Teach and Lead in Catholic Education Canberra and Goulburn policy.

About the Role

The Classroom Support Assistant plays an important role in supporting teachers to create an inclusive learning environment where all students can participate fully in classroom activities. Working with students with diverse learning needs, the position fosters academic progress, social development, independence, and confident engagement in school life.

This appointment is temporary as it is to replace an employee who is on parental leave and the incumbent is entitled to return to work early in accordance with the Fair Work Act 2009.

Qualifications and Eligibility

• Certificate III in School-based Education Support or be undertaking an Initial Teacher Education (ITE) university program of study or experience as Classroom and Learning Support Assistant
